High School Performance Ensemble- FALL only
with Stephanie Temple

Students: Grades 9-12
Day/Time: Saturdays, 10:00 am-12:00 pm (some additional rehearsal TBD)
Dates: October 14- December 9 (8 classes, no class 11/25)
Performance on 12/9 (12-1pm)

Location: Onsite at NCTC
In this acting intensive, students work with a director on scenes and monologues for a Conservatory showcase in December. Learn the essentials of scene work within a supportive ensemble. Build confidence in your solo work with specially chosen monologues and discover audition tips & tricks. This group class is also a great opportunity for students preparing for high school & college auditions!
Guests will be invited to a Conservatory showcase featuring middle and high school students on 12/9 from 12-1pm.
*Attendance is very important for this class and unapproved absences may result in removal from some or all of your roles. Please be sure you can commit to the schedule and the showcase day before registering. (Students must be available from 10 am-1 pm on showcase day.)
*This class is intended to be part one of two. The fall session is open to all. Select advanced students will be invited to join the spring production session (1/6-5/5). Admittance to the spring session (based on experience, maturity, and project chosen) is determined by the Education Director. Learn more about the High School Performance Ensemble and the spring play schedule.

Teen Acting Ensemble

Youth Acting Ensemble

Students: Grades 3-5

Level: Beginner
This youth acting class focuses on character creation and puts the “fun” in fundamentals. Students will learn acting and movement techniques to create unique characters and explore their world through improvisation and costume play. Join our great cast of characters! Note: This brief class does not have a final presentation for families.
*Combine with the Musical Theatre Boot Camp (10/14-11/18 from 11:45 am-1:00 pm) and you’ll be at NCTC for two consecutive classes from 10 am-1 pm. More drama = more fun!

Musical Theatre Bootcamp
with NCTC Staff

Students: Grades 3-8
Day/Time: Saturdays, 11:45 am-12:45 pm
Dates: October 14- November 18 (6 classes)

Let’s focus on the basics! Whether it’s your first time singing and dancing or you’re ready for a tune-up, this class will give you a little bit of everything. Using group numbers from top Broadway musicals, we’ll work on storytelling through singing and use easy-to-follow choreography to build dynamic performances. This class is also great for actors looking to expand their voice/movement skills. All levels are welcome to join. Note: This brief class does not have a final presentation for families.
*Combine with one of our Acting classes (from 10:00 am-11:30 am) and you’ll be at NCTC for two consecutive classes from 10:00 am-1:00 pm. More drama = more fun!

Step into the limelight! In this immersive class, students will create a 20-minute mini-play for family and friends. Here’s your chance to work together on a story, develop your character from start to finish, and learn what it takes to build a performance from page to stage. This is a great way to learn how to work with scripts, take direction, memorize lines, and bond with your fellow actors over the thrill of performance! (Play title is TBD)
*Attendance is very important for this performance class and unapproved absences may result in removal from some or all of your assigned scenes. Please be sure you can commit to the schedule and especially the final two classes (dress rehearsal & show day) and communicate any conflicts before registering.

Musical Theatre: Jukebox Musicals
with NCTC Staff

Students: Grades 3-8
Day/Time: Saturdays, 11:45 am-1:00 pm
Dates: January 27- March 16, 2024 (7 classes, no 2/17)

Location: Onsite at NCTC
Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Sing and dance as a group to Broadway’s best jukebox musicals based on the works of popular artists such as The Go-Go’s (Head Over Heels), Green Day (American Idiot), ABBA (Mama Mia!), The Temptations (Ain’t Too Proud), and pop song collections in & Juliet and Moulin Rouge. No experience is required in this ensemble class. The focus will be on group numbers only.
