ADC Mixer

Wanna meet up with like-minded theatre kids...I mean ADULT theatre kids?! We're hosting an informal sample class on Saturday, 5/9 from 12-1:30 pm for ages 18+. And YOU'RE INVITED!
Led by in-house Improv Coach Will Mattingly, you’ll play fast-paced games, test out wacky characters, and dive in together with new friends. Never taken an acting class before? Scenes & Monologues

In a supportive environment, you’ll work on scenes and monologues (funny, dramatic, and everything in between) and learn how to bring characters to life. Your director will help you break down a scene, make bold choices, and connect with your scene partner. Whether you’re brand new to acting or looking to sharpen your skills, this class is all about exploring. Come with curiosity—we’ll provide the scripts!
Seussified Shakespeare
with Aliya Bacal Peterson
Ages: 11 - 17
Students: Ages 11-17 (Rising 7th-9th graders, must have completed 6th grade by camp)
Day/Time: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-3:00 pm
Camp Dates: June 15-26 (9 days, no class 6/19)
Performance: Friday, June 26 from 3:00-4:00 pm

Seussified Shakespeare…where highbrow meets hilarious! What happens when Shakespeare’s iconic characters, plots, and poetry get a Dr. Seuss–style twist? Rhymes get wilder, language gets bolder, and serious drama meets delightful silliness. Students will rehearse mini-Shakespeare plays reimagined with rhyme, heightened characters, and imaginative staging. Along the way, teens build core acting skills—voice, movement, character development, and ensemble work—while learning to love Shakespeare’s language. The camp culminates in a lively performance for friends and family on the final day, giving students the chance to step into the spotlight with confidence and creativity.

Teen Ensemble Production

ABOUT CAMP
This immersive teen summer drama camp gives students the full theatre experience—from first audition to final curtain call. Campers rehearse and perform a full-length production, learning staging and character work while also helping create props and costume pieces. Students participate in tech and dress rehearsals and discover what it takes to bring a show to life behind the scenes. The session culminates in a full-scale production performed on the big stage for friends and family—a true professional-style theatre experience!
ABOUT THE PRODUCTION
This bold teen adaptation of The Odyssey puts a fresh, eco-friendly spin on one of the greatest adventure stories ever told. Using costumes, props, and scenic pieces made from recycled and upcycled materials, students reimagine Homer’s epic through a modern lens—proving that timeless stories can be told in brand-new ways. As Odysseus faces monsters, gods, and impossible journeys, the ensemble brings the world to life with inventive staging, physical storytelling, and collaborative performance. This version celebrates creativity, sustainability, and teamwork, inviting teens to explore both classic text and contemporary theatre-making.

Youth Ensemble Production
with NCTC Staff
Ages: 8 - 11
Students: Ages 8-11 (Rising 3rd-6th graders, must have completed 2nd grade by camp)
Day/Time: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Dates: July 6-17 (2 weeks)
Performance: Friday, July 17 from 3:00-4:00 pm
Location: Onsite at NCTC

ABOUT CAMP
This fun and immersive youth drama camp gives kids a joyful introduction to the full theatre experience—from auditions to a big final bow. Campers rehearse and perform a full-length, age-appropriate production while learning basic staging, choreography, and simple songs. Along the way, students help create simple props and costume accessories and get a peek behind the scenes during tech and dress rehearsals. The session culminates in a full-scale performance on the big stage for friends and family—an exciting, confidence-boosting theatre adventure kids will never forget!
ABOUT THE PRODUCTION
In Musical Time Machine, a curious group of kids discovers a mysterious box that sends them spinning through history on a musical adventure for the ages! One moment they’re together at home—and the next, they’re singing their way through the Old West, Ancient Greece, the Jazz Age, the groovy 1960s, and even the Elizabethan era! Each stop brings new characters, new styles of music, and plenty of surprises. As the kids race to figure out how to get back to their own time, they discover that every era has something to teach them about teamwork, courage, and finding their own voices. Packed with catchy songs and laugh-out-loud moments, Musical Time Machine is a high-energy youth production that proves no matter where—or when—you are, friendship is timeless. So buckle up, press the button, and let’s do the Time Warp…again!

Superhero Academy

Level: Beginner to intermediate
Superhero Academy is a high-energy summer drama camp where kids step into a world of capes, secret identities, and epic showdowns! Using acting games, improvisation, and creative movement, campers will explore what it means to be a hero—and what makes a great villain. Students will create their own original superhero characters, discover superpowers through voice and body work, and learn how heroes and villains use big choices to tell exciting stories. Along the way, kids build confidence, imagination, and collaboration skills in a fun, supportive environment. No experience needed—just a love of adventure and a readiness to save the day!
(Note: This class does not culminate in a performance.)
