Improv Showcase: Time Machine

This *NEW* performance-focused Improv class is all about putting your skills into action and bringing a little time-bending mayhem to a live audience. Each week, you’ll rehearse short-form games and scenes as a team, all building toward a high-energy Time Machine-themed final showcase for friends and family. From prehistoric punchlines to futuristic follies, you’ll jump across eras and dimensions, creating characters and chaos from every corner of history (and beyond). Buckle up—it’s going to be a wild ride through time! 

Some Improv experience required (either at NCTC or elsewhere). Looking to pick-up skills? Try our short-term Improv 101 workshops!

Scene Study

Level: Beginner to Intermediate

In a supportive environment, you’ll work on scenes from plays (think funny, dramatic, and everything in between) and learn how to bring characters to life. Your director will help you break down a scene, make bold choices, and connect with your scene partner. Whether you’re brand new to acting or looking to sharpen your skills, this class is all about exploring. Come with curiosity—we’ll bring the scripts!

Open House Youth Acting

Remember belting your heart out in high school choir? Or harmonizing in the car with your besties? Glee Club is your chance to jump back into the magic of singing with a group. Each week, we’ll jam to popular musical theatre tunes, learn easy harmonies, and “Sing out, Louise!” Whether you’re a former chorus kid or a karaoke superstar—this class is calling your name. Cue the key change and LET’S SING.

Teen Acting Lab

Ready to bring the laughs? In this high-energy acting class, middle school performers will dive into the world of sketch comedy, improv, and physical humor inspired by the golden age of vaudeville and variety theatre. Students will create bold, original characters, craft hilarious scenes, and sharpen their comedic timing through fast-paced games and collaborative performance work. Whether you're a natural class clown or just looking to try something new, this is your chance to take risks, get creative, and make the whole room crack up—on purpose!

Students will perform in an original Conservatory showcase, Make ‘em Laugh on 12/13 from 12-1 pm (featuring scenes and songs from our Acting and Musical Theatre classes). 

*Please be sure you can commit to the schedule and especially the final two classes (dress rehearsal & showcase day), and communicate any conflicts before registering. Unapproved absences may result in removal from some or all performance pieces--the show must go on, after all. Students must be available from 10 am-1 pm on showcase day. 

Double the Fun, One Easy Drop-Off!
Combine with the Teen Musical Theatre (from 11:40 am-1:00 pm) and stay at NCTC from 10 am-1 pm. Our Saturday Conservatory acting and musical theatre classes are designed to complement each other, giving students a deeper, more well-rounded training experience. Enroll in both and your child will enjoy three full hours of creative learning—all with just one drop-off and pick-up. It’s the perfect way to build skills, confidence, and stage presence in one exciting morning!

  • Scholarships cannot be applied retroactively, so be sure to WAIT FOR A SCHOLARSHIP CODE BEFORE REGISTERING AND PAYING FOR A CLASS.

Youth Musical Theatre

Whether it’s your first time singing and dancing or you’re ready for a tune-up, this class will give you a little bit of everything. Using songs from showbiz musicals such as The Greatest Showman, we’ll work on storytelling through singing and use easy-to-follow choreography to build dynamic performances.
